No Smoking
Ask any smoker, at what time of the day they felt the maximum urge to light a cigarette and they will answer right after taking a meal. Yes, thats true. Though smoking is not at all good for the health but smoking immediately after lunch and dinner have a lot more adverse effects on the health. It is one of those things you should avoid right after taking a meal. As per the researches, the damage that a cigarette after a meal is almost equivalent to smoking 10 cigarettes at a time.
Taking a Shower
This could be shocking but, how many of you know that taking a shower is one of those things you should avoid right after taking a meal. And yes, we are not talking anything absurd, in fact, there is a reason behind it. Our digestive system requires the necessary ingredients from our blood to digest the food. But, when we actually take a shower right after taking a meal, the blood begins to rushes towards our legs and hands area, resulting in lesser blood flow towards our stomach. This causes slow digestion and a weaker digestive system.
Sleeping Immediately
I think all of us have heard this from elders in our childhood that it is not good to lye immediately in the bed after having a meal. There are many pieces of research and studies available which suggest that it causes numerous health issues, such as bad sleep, discomfort and gas pains. This makes it one of the things you should avoid right after taking a meal. The logic behind this is in the process of digestion, our body produces digestive juices which tends to travel in the opposite direction through the food pipe, causing the inner layer to corrode. It is because of this fact that we sometimes feel acidity and discomfort in our chest area.

Brushing the Teeth
Our mother always taught us to brush our teeth twice a day. Once in the morning and once before we go to bed. But, one thing which she forgot to tell us is we should not brush our teeth immediately after a meal. Brushing after a meal scrub away the various layers of enamel present on our teeth. This results in damaging the teeth and when it stays continued for years, it gets detrimental for them. The best you can do is to wait for at least half an hour so that our mouth can produce enough saliva to soften the enamel. This makes it one of the things you should avoid right after taking a meal.
